How I got started

So I thought I would back up a little bit and share with you, how I got started on this journey. It all started in the Layton Hills mall on December 8th 2011. I was doing a little Christmas shopping and a lady by the name of Stacey Bohn came up to me and asked me if she could ask me a few health questions. I was reluctant but agreed. As she went on, I realized this was more about me and not so much about a silly survey. Of course I started crying, cause that is what I do, but as she went on, I realized this was an answer to my prayers. I had been thinking a lot lately about needing to find something new to help me lose this weight. I have just never found anything successful so I stopped bothering to try. Stacey is the most loving and kind person, and I am not sure I would have responded the same way to anyone else. She invited me to come to a Sponsor Me Slim meeting that night and I told her I would try to make it. I walked away from her thinking, what an awful job she has, coming up to fat people in the mall. I am now so grateful that she does what she does, or I wouldn't be where I am today. So I went home and talked with Tyler more about it, and told him I wanted to go and that I wanted him to come with me, so he could see what it was all about too. I was super emotional the whole night and did some major crying. I wanted to change so bad and thought maybe this is my answer. We went home that night and talked some more about it. Tyler is sooo supportive but very cautious and a little skeptical about stuff like this, especially when money is involved. He wanted me to check into things more and make sure I really wanted to do this before I put my time and money into it. He really just didn't want to see me get hurt again like I have so many other times when I have tried something and failed. I really thought long and hard about it and decided I wanted to give it a try. That is when some amazing blessings came my way and paved the path that have made this all possible, and answered my prayers as to whether this was something I should do. (You know who you are that has helped me greatly, I am so thankful to you) And here I sit today 30 pounds lighter, so much happier, and on my way to greatness. Thank you so much Stacey for believing in me and having the courage to come up and talk to me. I wouldn't be here today with out you.

  1. I was wondering about this so thank you for sharing it. It sounds like a "tender mercy" from the Lord. Congrats to you for being ready when the opportunity presented itself :)
